PRIDE... Making something out of nothing
I am humbled by the universe around me. I am amazed and in wonder at the beauty of this world, the life on this plant. I can stand at the edge of the Grand Canyon and be moved by its grander. I stood on the Napoli coastline in Kawai and watched a family of sea turtles ride the oncoming ocean waves and just as the wave begin to curl downward they gently and gracefully swam out of it and into the next. Humbled.

Each of us has around 2,000 taste buds.The human eye can distinguish 10 million different colours. The human heart pumps blood at such pressure that it would be able to raise blood up to the fourth floor of a building.
Did this all happen by chance? Are we just a collection of chemicals that came together over millions of years by chance. What about before the big bang. Back when science has proven there were no chemicals, no atoms or electrons, no cells, no life, NOTHING at all. How does nothing explode and make something? We have never been able to reproduce that fact in a science lab.
No one has ever created a rose from nothing or even a particle of dust. Nothing, is impossible to work into something. At least for us humans. It would seem that given billions of years nothing would still be nothing in the end. So who or what added the components for life?
This amazing blue marble we live on called earth is truly a wonder. Even when you’re resting on your armchair, you’re flying through space faster than the fastest human-made object ever built: around 1.3 million miles per hour. The picture below nicknamed the Pale Blue dot, was captured by Voyager I just before it exited our galaxy in the year 1990.

It’s difficult to imagine that anyone could look at creation and “pridefully” declare; “it all happened by random chance.” And that is why we have religions. Religion simply defined is: Man in search of God. A quick look at world religions reveals Christianity is drastically different and in fact best described not as a religion but as an encounter, a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Additionally, Christianity offers answers to all the major questions that surface in humanity: 1. How did life begin? 2. What is the Meaning of Life? 3. What is morality (right and wrong)? 4. What happens to us when our life on earth ends?
Pride keeps us from seeing us. Christianity humbles us in the presence of creation and the God who made it all. Pride leads us to believe we made something out of nothing. In the presence of God we see the absurdity of that belief.
