We have all been there, perhaps you are there right now. Restless, looking to make a move, a major change, shake up your life. This is probably not the first time you have felt this way and it will not be the last.
We get restless when we feel we are not accomplishing what we believe we should. We see our lives moving in slow motion or not moving at all. We compare ourselves with people we believe are advancing and we want to do something to change our lives.
3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. (Isaiah 26:3)
So what can we do with our restless feelings?
1. Do not make any major decisions based on restless FEELINGS. What we feel often does not tell us the true story of our circumstances. Making life altering decisions based on our feelings is never a good idea.
2. Take time to pray and read the Bible. God wants to speak to you. He loves you and has great plans for your life. These plans are not a military secret, He wants to share them with you.
3. Begin to Plan forward! It is always a good idea to have a plan. Look forward at least 5 years. As you pray and hear from God, write down your plan. Work backwards, what goals need to be met in year 4, year 3, year 2, Year 1 in order to accomplish the five year plan. Be realistic and detailed with your goals and set dates that they need to be accomplished.
You are unique! God has great things in store for you. Do not miss God's plan for you by adopting the plans of someone else. Do not be impatient let God unfold the plan as he prepares your heart.
